Remote sensing in climate and environment is introduced and typical applications are presented. Principles of active and passive remote sensing (LIDAR, RADAR / SAR, CCD, CMOS, Range Imaging, etc.), current airborne and spaceborne remote sensing sensors are reviewed. Lectures on signals and sta- tistics as well as advanced signal processing (F-, L-, Z-Transform, convolution filter design, statistical sig- nal processing) are also given. Applications of signal processing in current remote sensing.
